„TRANSPARENZ“ can be defined as one; the quality or state of being transparent be it personally or politically, or second; concerning materiality as being translucent. These two definitions form the base of the projects contents and how the two designers approached the topic. They wanted to work on a subject that allows thema wide range of possibilities for interpretation and experimentation. The end product, a „Zine“, is defined as a noncommercial often homemade publication usually devoted to specialized or unconventional subject matters. „TRANSPARENZ“ has the goal to inspire other design students to find their love for the analogue while also addressing topics they can relate to. The analog production method of the project factors as the main motivation behind it. Contrasting a curriculum that solely focuses on digital design capabilities, the two students wanted to find a way to produce something in a more traditional, analog way while simultaneously maintaining a connection to the modern world.
